Hillary has obtained her Master of Social Work degree through Western New Mexico University. Prior to her masters, she attended Lewis Clark State College for her B.A of Social Work. Hillary has had multiple internship programs, and opportunities to work with people of all ages and varying backgrounds.
Hillary has spent some of her time volunteering in men’s prisons in the state of Idaho. During this time, she led work groups, and helped in the education department. Hillary has also worked for the State of Idaho in Child Protection. This work included family dynamics, case management, family planning, and the use of local resources. Hillary is interested in seeing clients over the age of 16. She also really enjoys marriage and couples counseling. Hillary will work with each client to feel seen and heard. She values communication and seeks to improve this. She utilizes a non-faith based approach, unless discussed with the client. Hillary is an eclectic counselor, able to pull from a variety of different therapy approaches. Some used can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Gottman Method for couples’ therapy.
Hillary will work alongside her clients to develop a trusting relationship that will build as the client works to process their own experiences. Everyone's healing journey looks different and Hillary is here to support you wherever you are.
