Dan Cornell

Counseling Intern

Dan received a B.S. in Youth Ministry, with a minor in Psychology from Nyack College in 1992.  He has served as a fulltime Pastor at three churches since then, presently with CrossPoint Alliance Church here in the Valley.  While serving as a Pastor, he has had numerous opportunities to work with youth, adults, families, and couples in a counseling capacity.  He is finishing his Master’s degree from Crown College by completing his internship hours.  Dan is married to Heidi and has three children, Kayla, Ben, and Nick (as well as a son-in-law Jordan).

Dan does both Christian and non-faith based counseling.  He works with children ages 10 and up, adults, couples and families.  He is trained in marriage enrichment as well as preparing couples for marriage.  He uses a Cognitive Behavioral approach and is open to using other approaches as they seem beneficial.  He believes that how we think plays a large part in how we feel and behave.  If medication is needed he will collaborate with your PCP or Psychiatrist.

Dan is a member of the American Counseling Association and is under the direct supervision of Ingrid Blinn, who along with her husband Eric, owns RiverPlace Counseling & Wellness, PLLC.  For the duration of his internship process, visits with Dan will cost a flat fee of $20 per session.
