Andrea Ackerland

Social Work Intern

Andrea Ackerland is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Kentucky, with a specialization in trauma work. Andrea will receive a trauma certificate upon graduation and plans to obtain a clinical counseling license. Andrea previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Lewis-Clark State College.

Andrea’s experience includes working with the Lewiston School District Hub during a prior internship, volunteering at the LC Valley Youth Resource Center, and serving on the board at the Salvation Army. These roles reflect Andrea’s commitment to community service and helping others navigate trauma and healing.

Driven by personal experience and a passion for supporting others, Andrea is dedicated to learning and growing as a counselor. As an intern, Andrea aims to expand knowledge and skills by working alongside individuals seeking healing and guidance, as well as collaborating with fellow counselors.

During her internship at RiverPlace Counseling & Wellness, PLLC, Andrea will be under the supervision of Haley Cardenas, LMSW.
